Growing up in a small village I really appreciate the ability to escape the hustle and bustle of the everyday urban environment I currently live in and immerse myself in nature. The sense of freedom and solitude from being in a time and a place with hardly any people around, surrounded by natural beauty, is priceless.
In my longing for peace and quiet I am drawn to rugged mountain or coastal landscapes where the brute forces of nature or the sheer beauty of the environment reveal themselves and can leave you in awe and feeling small. I am also interested by human interventions in the landscape that are built to protect us from the natural forces.
I try to capture the mood and atmosphere of the occasion and create a moment of zen to reflect as the perfect antidote to stress and to restore balance.
